Dressing your Dog for the cold weather

Some people may find it silly to put clothes on dogs. They're already wearing a fur coat, right?

There are others that dress their dogs to the nines! Designer clothing, collars, accessories and carriers that cost more then you'd spend on your own wardrobe!

Then there is the middle ground. Sometimes dogs actually should wear a sweater or vest to keep them warm outside. Short haired dogs, tiny breeds and older dogs can feel the cold as much as we humans do. You wouldn't go out for a walk when it's 10 degresss, in a T-Shirt. Or your Birthday suit for that matter :)

Some dogs even benefit from wearing something indoors as well. Dogs that are sick or recovering from an illness or surgery. Older dogs, very tiny dogs and dogs with a very short coat can be very comfortable in a cozy pair of Pj's or a soft fleece pullover.

Our fleece cozy coats are perfect for both indoor and outdoor wear. With 10 colors and 14 sizes to choose from, you are sure to find one to compliment your dog.
Another benefit of this comfy coat is that it will keep hair off of your furniture. My super cool American Bull Dog, Gino, that weighs 112 pounds, loves to lie on my sofas and bed. Yes, he has short hair, BUT he sheds 365 days a year! He loves his lightweight black cozy coat and so does our furniture :)

So the next time you see a dog dressed in something trimmed in pink marabou, don't be so quick to shake your head and wonder why! That dog is keeping toasty warm and being stylish is a bonus :)

At Pawfect Pet Collars by Jackie we carry a wide variety of styles and sizes so while you may not want your dog in a fur trimmed pink leopard coat(we have those too), you may like a genuine leather jacket, a suede fringed jacket(think the 70's) or a sweater with a skull. Maybe football is your thing. We have Football Jersey's for every NFL team! Matching collars and leashes too!

Woof to ya soon,
Jackie and Gino
